Worksite Volunteer Opportunities

Construction Volunteers
Description:  Construction volunteers help with a variety of tasks on the worksite.  They may pour footings for the foundation, build the interior walls, install shingles, hang drywall, or put the finishing touches on the house.
Skills Needed:  No construction skill or building experience is necessary.  All that is needed is a willingness to learn, work hard and have a good time.
Time Commitment:  Thursdays from 8:30 am-12:00 pm.  Saturdays from 8:30 am-1:00 pm.
Dress:  Dress in layers and no open-toed shoes allowed.

Site Host
Description:  The site host plays a vital role in ensuring that work days run smoothly.  This person welcomes all volunteers and manages the opening minutes of a work session.  This includes making sure that everyone signs a waiver, has a name tag, and knows who the supervisor is.  Other responsibilities include helping hospitality volunteers set up meals, as well as taking pictures of the worksite volunteers while they work.
Skills Needed:  A willingness to make volunteers feel welcome.
Time Commitment: Saturdays on the worksite for between 1 and 3 hours. Site host positions are often posted on our Sign-Up calendar.

Worksite Hospitality
Description:  Prepare and serve food for hungry workers onsite.  This is the perfect way to contribute to Habitat without doing construction.  Habitat always says that the quality of our worksite volunteers is only as good as the food they are given!  Habitat provides the plates, napkins, plastic utensils, cups, and bowls.  We also provide water for a beverage.
Time commitment:  We break at 10:30 am on Saturdays.

RSVP
Description:  Retired Seniors Volunteer Program.  RSVP volunteers help with a variety of tasks on the worksite.  They may pour footings for the foundation, build the interior walls, install shingles, hang drywall, or put the finishing touches on the house.

ReStore — Retail outlet store

ReStore Donations Vehicle Driver
•The ReStore needs volunteers to drive our donations pick-up vehicle one or two days a week usually for 2-4 hours. Sometimes you will need to assist in loading donated materials into the donations vehicle, so the ability to safely lift 50 lbs is desired.
