Program Overview

Foundations to Front Door is a 6-month cohort-based program designed to help individuals and families build the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed for successful homeownership.

Participants move through the program together, learning from local experts, connecting with peers, and gaining real-world insight into what it takes to own and maintain a home.

This program is open to the community and required for current Habitat partner families.

Who Should Participate

  • Current Habitat partner families (required)

  • Renters interested in becoming homeowners

  • Community members looking to build financial and homeownership knowledge

  • Anyone exploring the path to owning a home

What You’ll Learn

Over six monthly sessions, participants will explore:

  • Budgeting and financial foundations

  • Credit, debt, and mortgage basics

  • The true cost of owning a home

  • Home maintenance and insurance

  • Emergency preparedness and financial stability

  • Real experiences from Habitat homeowners
